We used Guinness, our favorite Irish stout, to concoct a refreshing stout beer cocktail with half the alcohol, but all of the classic full-bodied flavor! Our dandy shandy recipe takes a twist on the traditional British beverage by combining stout beer and ginger ale with fresh squeezed lemon and honey.

If you’re abstaining from alcohol or want to serve a mocktail version to guests, no problem, just replace the Guinness with your favorite non-alcoholic beer.

A dandy shandy can be served in a variety of glasses. From a highball to a Collins, a parfait to a pilsner, how you sip is all about your style.

We like to think of the rules as guidelines. Getting playful and serving festive beverages in unique glasses is part of the fun.

This beverage is a great alternative cocktail if you’re trying to sip responsibly – say at a cocktail party or lunch. If you or enjoy the taste of beer, but don’t want to get “knocked off of your barstool” from the alcohol, our dandy shandy recipe is for you!
