Cooking rice is super easy and only takes 5 minutes to prep and 16 minutes to cook! Watch this simple video on how to cook rice and become a novice in the kitchen.

It is actually way easier than you think. In a strainer, rinse 2 cups of dried basmati rice and leave it in the sink to drain. Heat 3 Tbsp of extra virgin olive oil in a medium pot over medium-high heat. Add the rice and cook 2–3 minutes, stirring constantly until the rice has toasted and puffed up a little bit.

Then you’ll add 2¾ cups boiling water, 2 tsp of kosher salt and ½ tsp of black pepper. Cover the pot, reduce the heat to a low simmer and cook 15-16 minutes. Uncover the pot, fluff the rice with a fork and serve warm. Done!
