Homemade Pesto Recipe
Nothing adds a burst of flavor like homemade pesto! This easy recipe will help kick your sandwiches, soups and scrambled eggs up a notch.
- 6 cups fresh basil leaves
- 4 cloves garlic
- 2/3 cup Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 cup walnuts
- 2 tsp lime juice or more to taste
- 1/2 tsp salt
Combine basil, garlic, Parmesan cheese, oil, walnuts, lime juice and salt in a food processor and pulse until the mixture is chopped.
Scrape the side of the bowl and turn the processor back on and keep running until it is your desired consistency. You may have to scrape the sides of the bowl a couple of times.
