  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 jalapeño sliced
  • 5 large fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup tequila
  • 1/4 cup triple sec

Instructions

  • Arrange watermelon in a single layer in a large baking dish. Bring sugar, water, jalapeno, basil, tequila and triple sec to a boil in a saucepan. Cook for about 1 minute until sugar dissolves. Let cool then pour syrup over watermelon wedges and refrigerate for 45 minutes–1 hour.

Notes

For an extra special touch, have some coarse sea salt nearby so guests can sprinkle their watermelon wedge with a savory punch!
