You don’t need every kind of glass they sell in the store! Start with a few of the basics, and you’ll be right at home serving up drinks to a thirsty crowd with our 3 must-have cocktail glasses!

1. A big ol’ wine glass

When it comes to wine glasses, bigger is better because white wines are less affected by being served in a larger red wine glass than the other way around. Especially with big, bold and younger reds, which really need some space to stretch their legs and breathe easy.

2. A double old-fashioned glass

For mixed drinks, stick with the double old-fashioned. It’s short and stubby enough to be used for a traditional brandy or scotch on the rocks, but tall enough to hold a mixed drink that would normally call for a collins or highball.

3. A stemmed Champagne flute

What’s a cocktail party without a glass of bubbly? There really is nothing more elegant than holding a beautiful stemmed Champagne flute, but don’t think you have to buy a dozen matching glasses. Mixing and matching can bring a charming eclectic touch to even the most formal gathering.
