I’ve spent the last three years reading your posts, listening to your needs and crafting recipes around what you want to serve your family for dinner. You want classic everyday recipes like the ones you grew up eating—like the ones I grew up eating! So, there was no better place to start than with my mama’s recipes. I wrote Mother Daughter Dishes to capture my mama’s classic Midwestern dishes and I updated them with modern techniques and fresher alternatives. I also added a few recipes of my own to pass along to my girls. In this video, I introduce you to my fun-loving, belly-laugh-gigglin’, crazy mama who is at the core of who I am. I love how it shows our very different philosophies on food and how we jockey for control in the kitchen—a theme I’m certain you experience while cooking with your mom and/or daughter at times.

It was so much fun to wrangle the recipes she’s kept in her head forever, put them to paper and hear all the stories that surrounded those good ol’ family favorites. I hope this video inspires you to share your own stories and recipes together. You can get a copy of Mother Daughter Dishes on Amazon, where there’s over 70 recipes of classic American dishes that turn out awesome every single time. Also, I’d love you to subscribe to my YouTube channel and stay tuned to what’s cooking because I’m working with Gordon Elliot (producer of The Chew) on developing a super fun show! And if you like this content you’ll love what’s happening on Facebook and EverydayDishes.com. Leave a comment and let me know what you think. See you soon!
