How to Choose the Right Skirt Length
These days, dresses can be so short, it looks like the lady in question may have lost her pants. Here is the Everyday Dishes Hemline Index to get your stock in sync with the social market.
go short
Short skirts are fun, cute and easy to move around in, but they can look ridiculous and distasteful. So watch those stairs, don’t get jumpy and mind the wind. We prefer tights of an opaque nature to accompany a mini.
mid-length maiden
The mid-length skirt can be tough to pull off if not styled correctly. The F-word (“frumpy,” of course) comes to mind. So fight the frump by picking a side—above or below the knee, but never right at the knee. Be sure to wear a heel of some sort, whether it’s a classic pump or a hip boot. Keep the top portion of your outfit tailored and properly accessorized.
long and lovely
Long skirts flatter every body type. Heels with this look are a must, and ankle-strap versions are a designer favorite. To ensure the top is balanced well with the bottom, wear a fitted top, especially with a flowing skirt. Style with a fun belt and bangles.
