We love a good mai tai, so we decided to transform an exotic favorite into a cocktail appropriate for fall. Try our apple-flavored mai tai recipe then make it for all your friends. It’s a great tailgate libation because the results are unbelievably festive!

The traditional mai tai is made with light and dark rum and orange-flavored liqueurs. We traded in the oranges for apples and ditched the dark spiced rum for its lighter, crisper compatriot. We then used all the classic ingredients (maraschino cherries and pineapple spears) to garnish right down to the little umbrella.

The liquor really packs a punch, so we added a splash of club soda to the recipe. It makes the apple flavor a little more effervescent and the cherry subtler. Cheers!

Two mason jars full of a delicious cinnamon mai tai cocktail, garnished with fresh fruit and little umbrellas.
