October 31st is the perfect day of the year for a signature drink. While all the children go door-to-door asking for treats, we wanted the adults to enjoy a libation equally festive and fun. Our spooktacular amaretto Halloween cocktail is BOO-zy and delicious!

The blackberry purée takes a little time to make but it’s E-A-S-Y and so worth the effort. You don’t even have to fuss with fresh berries and they’re much less expensive in the freezer section anyway. We found the syringes online with free shipping—you can also ask your local drugstore if they’re in stock.

Go the extra mile for a beverage and you’ll see the rewards with smiles on everyone’s faces. We found plastic eyeballs at the store, but gummy worms and other scary-looking treats will also do the trick!

This creepy cocktail would be crazy good alongside some spider cookies or Frankenstein marshmallow pops!

  • 2 cups blackberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 4 oz amaretto liqueur
  • 4 oz vodka
  • 12 oz lemon lime soda
  • juice of 4 oranges
  • 4 plastic syringes

Instructions

  • Purée blackberries in blender then press contents through a mesh strainer or sieve to separate pulp from seeds. Discard seeds then combine purée with sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir frequently, letting the mixture cook for about 10 minutes until thickened. Set aside.
  • Combine vodka, amaretto, lemon-lime soda and the juice of two whole oranges in a cocktail shaker with ice. Stir until ingredients are combined completely then set aside.
  • Fill syringes with blackberry simple syrup then strain the alcohol mixture into glasses filled with ice. Squirt a tiny bit of the purée from the syringe then place the syringe inside glass. Serve immediately.

Notes

If you want a lighter version of this drink, use diet lemon-lime soda instead of regular. You can also substitute with club soda…cheers!
