How to dress for summer
Memorial Day is around the corner, and we are overwhelmed with patriotism for the brave men and women who’ve given their lives to serve our country.
On this special weekend, we will spend time with our loved ones, fire up the grill, and relish the arrival of summer. In honor of the festivities to ensue, we have a spotlight on the season’s must have: white denim jeans.
From a picnic in the park to the backyard barbecue, a pair of white jeans is all you need to liven up your wardrobe this summer.
a challenge worth the undertaking
Wearing white, especially in the form of pants, is a daunting dilemma for anyone. From the fashion ingénue to the lucky few cultivated in couture, the effort required to keep pallid fabric clear of dirt and grime should not prevent you from embracing this crisp summer trend.
skinny vs. flare
We’ll take one of each! We love the way skinny jeans elongate the female form and hug a woman’s curves. Your white skinnys offer an effortless transition from day to night, and will complement a flirty tunic for an easy silhouette up top. If you opt for flair, stay away from exaggerated bells, which can make a straight frame look unbalanced. Instead, try a boot cut jean to accentuate an hourglass and maintain the sleek effect of the white.
dazzle in sandals
There are so many delightful sandals in the world, but only so many days you can wear them. Emancipate your feet from hibernation with a celebratory pedicure, and fire up those gam flattering wedges or foot friendly peep-toe flats. Brightly hued or metallic sandals add a sexy pop of color to any outfit, and will balance out the negative space the white creates from waist to ankle.
put a belt on it
It is a sad truth, but we’re of the opinion that fun statement belts are the most commonly overlooked accessories. While black or brown are wardrobe staples, bright colored belts, or belts with a unique but tastefully designed belt buckle, can take your look from meh to marvelous. Paired with white denim jeans, a snazzy belt is the key to making your outfit visually complete.
