Hot Buttery Spiked Cider

Yield: 6 servings
- 5 cups apple cider
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 lemon, halved
- 1 orange, halved
- 8 whole cloves
- 1 1/2 tsp allspice
- 4 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 cup bourbon, (approx)
- Pour apple cider into medium saucepan. Add brown sugar.
- Stick cloves in orange halves then add orange halves, lemon, Allspice, cinnamon sticks and butter to saucepan.
- Bring contents to a boil then turn heat down. Simmer drink at least 15 minutes.
- Add 3/4 - 1 oz bourbon to each glass, then strain liquid into serving glasses.
Cloves are the aromatic dried flower buds of trees native to Indonesia.
