Love is in the air! Make a DIY Valentine felt gift box to show that special someone how much you care—not to mention how talented you are. It’s super inexpensive plus we give you a free printable and easy directions for decorating three boxes.

To make a basic box you’ll need a printer that prints 11″ x 17″ paper for our templates. If your printer’s unable to do the job, we have instructions below on how to print the template out on letter size paper.

Download, print then cut out our felt box template using an X-acto knife and metal ruler. You’ll want to use a cutting mat on which to place the template and stiff felt—this special surface protects your cutting tools from damage.

Use a rotary cutter (or your X-acto knife and ruler) for the felt then make crisp folds as indicated, using either a bone folder or the back of a wooden spoon. Grab your hot glue gun and dab a little glue on the top edges of the squared flap then bring the angled flap over and adhere to form a perfectly square box.

Now you’re ready to decorate your DIY Valentine felt gift box to your heart’s content—after all, it’s Valentine’s Day, isn’t it? It’s all about the presentation. Follow our directions to make felt roses to gift to your lover, or springy pipe cleaner spirals to give to the kids—the possibilities are endless so go for it!
