The secret ingredient in this recipe is Blue Curacao liqueur. It also has a nice citrus flavor. Combined with margarita mix, Cointreau orange-flavored liquor, orange bitters and fresh squeezed lemon or lime gives this cocktail a smooth, sweet flavor. You’ll hardly notice the tequila!
Blue Margarita Recipe
Ring in the summer celebration this year with a festive blue margarita! The secret ingredient is Blue Curacao liqueur. It's citrusy and delicious.
Yield: 2 - 5 oz cocktails
- 8 oz margarita mix
- 4 oz Blue Curacao
- 4 oz tequila
- 4 oz Cointreau liqueur
- 4 dashes orange flavored bitters
- 2 squeezes lemon, or lime
- Mix ingredients in a small pitcher and give them a stir. Pour into glasses filled with ice, garnish with fresh lemon or lime wedges and enjoy!
Curacao liqueur is flavored with the peel of the laraha citrus fruit, grown on the island of Curaçao. It tastes similar to that of an orange.
