Making a stenciled pillowcase just got a whole lot easier with Tulip For Your Home. Literally everything you need is right there. From the pillow covers to the paint, roller and stencils, you’ll have a finished stenciled birds pillowcase in no time!

Their materials are high quality and come in a variety of colors and styles to keep things fresh. We used a grey pillow cover to make a stenciled birds pillowcase and we’re definitely using their burlap cover next time!

Graphic print pillowcases are really trendy right now, but they can run a pretty penny at the stores. Plus, you’re not always guaranteed to find exactly the colors and prints you want.

Needless to say, that’s why we love a good do-it-yourself!

We picked Tulip’s Bird & Branch stencil and Chervron stencil for a sweet and stylish touch, but there are a lot more options to choose from—including butterflies, zoo animals (great for nurseries!) and flowers. Which one would you choose?

Instructions
  1. Place cardboard inside the pillowcase to keep from bleeding through to the other side.
  2. On the back of the chevron stencil (the rough side), spray a light coat of stencil spray adhesive. Wait about one minute then place stencil onto pillow cover and press into place.
  3. Using Tulip Steel fabric paint and roller, paint over the stencil. Work your paint evenly, coating the fabric then carefully peel stencil off pillow cover. Allow cover to dry completely.
  4. Lightly draw three horizontal lines across the pillow, using a pencil. These will mimic the telephone lines where your birds will be stenciled. Use photo provided as a reference. Paint over lines using Tulip Ocean paint and a thin brush. Allow it to dry.
  5. Using painter’s tape, tape over the branches on the front of the Bird & Branches stencil. Spray a light coat of spray adhesive onto the back. Gently press stencil onto the pillow cover, placing the bird onto the top left over the first line. Using the roller and Tulip Blueberry paint, stencil the bird onto the fabric. Rinse paint off stencil and allow pillow to dry.
  6. Spray a light coat of spray adhesive on the FRONT of the stencil, with the painter’s tape facing up. This will allow the bird to face the other direction. Gently press stencil onto the pillow cover, placing the bird onto the bottom left over the third line. Using the roller and Tulip Sunflower paint, stencil the bird onto the fabric. Rinse paint off stencil and allow pillow to dry.
  7. Add painter’s tape to the stencil, covering the bird’s feet. Spray a light coat of spray adhesive on the back of the stencil. Gently press stencil onto the pillow cover, placing the bird onto the top right over the first line. Using the roller and Tulip White paint, stencil the bird onto the fabric. Rinse paint off stencil and allow pillow to dry.
  8. Spray a light coat of spray adhesive on the FRONT of the stencil, with the painter’s tape facing up. This will allow the bird to face the other direction. Gently press stencil onto the pillow cover, placing the bird onto the center line. Using the roller and Tulip Ocean paint, stencil the bird onto the fabric. Rinse paint off stencil and allow pillow to dry.
