Rinse them in cold water then let ‘em dry out in the oven to preserve for a day or two. Voila, you’re ready to rock and roll!
How To Soak Wheat Berries Instructions
- 1 cup wheat berries, einkorn
- 1 qt water, cold
- In a medium-sized bowl, add the einkorn wheat berries and the water. Cover and let sit on the counter in a cool place overnight.
- The next day, drain the wheat berries. They are now ready for your favorite breakfast bowl!
- To preserve 1–2 days, turn the oven to the lowest setting and transfer the wheat berries to a rimmed baking sheet. Place the wheat berries in the oven and allow them to dry for 1–2 hours.
You can prepare risottos, pilafs and other rice-like dishes using wheat berries!
