Nothing is more disappointing than a bland melon, so take a little care when picking out your honeydew. When you’re at the grocery store, just press the melon on the blossom end and feel for a little give. The melon should also be mildly sweet and fragrant.
Cut your honeydew in half. Chop half of honeydew to make about 2 cups and set aside. Scoop out remaining half of honeydew into balls with using a melon baller. Place melon balls in a shallow container and pour in half a cup of good tequila. Place the melon balls in your freezer so they can transform into a flavorful ice cube alternative.
In a cocktail shaker muddle the two cups of chopped honeydew and strain into a pitcher. Pour lime juice, tequila, and your lemon-lime soda into pitcher and stir to combine– we’re all about conserving calories here! Add your frozen honeydew tequila balls and serve.
Frozen melon lime cocktails are perfect for the most sweltering days of summer, but they’re so fabulous, any other old day is also a smashing occasion for this fun and unique beverage.
