This is one of my favorite treats to bring to a holiday party. You can make them ahead of time and just store in an airtight container once they’ve fully cooled. You may want to make a double batch for a large party. These will go fast!
Bourbon Pecan Blondies Recipe Tips:
+ If you don’t have bourbon vanilla extract on hand, you can substitute regular vanilla extract and do an extra splash of bourbon in your wet mixture.
+ To quickly chop your pecans, put them in a plastic Ziploc bag and crush them with a rolling pin or large glass.
Bourbon Pecan Blondies
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup salted butter
- 2 tbsp bourbon whiskey
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup cane sugar
- 1 tsp bourbon vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- flaky salt
Equipment
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a 7×10” or 8×8” inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- Brown the butter: place the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Once melted, reduce the heat to medium low and cook for about 15 minutes, stirring frequently until the butter has browned. There should be a slightly nutty smell and brown bits at the bottom of the pan.
- Remove the butter from the heat and whisk in the bourbon.
- Pour into a large mixing bowl and add the brown sugar and cane sugar. Use an electric mixer to beat for about 1 minute. Add the egg and vanilla and beat again until completely combined.
- In a separate mixing bowl whisk together the flour and baking soda.
- Pour the flour mixture into the wet ingredients and fold until just combined, then fold in the pecans, white chocolate chips, and dark chocolate chips until well incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 20-28 minutes or until a toothpick is inserted and comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool completely before slicing and serving.
