A good mimosa isn’t always about the champagne! Mix up your brunch routine with a blood orange beer mimosa cocktail.

Blood orange juice can be found at specialty markets but we’re going to let you in on a little secret—blood orange juice tastes just like regular OJ; it just happens to have way more antioxidants and is bright crimson in color. If you can’t find it at the store, just use trusty ol’ Tropicana.

We selected a Belgian wheat ale for this recipe. Belgian wheat ales are traditionally made with coriander and orange peel, which is responsible for its slightly bitter citrus flavor. Yum!

Start by wetting your beer glass and sticking it in the freezer. Leave it in the icebox for a few minutes to chill, or longer if you wish to achieve a nice layer of frost.

Remove the glass and fill it three-quarters of the way with cold beer. Fill the remainder of the glass with blood orange juice to taste, using as much or as little as you like. Garnish with a wedge of blood orange and enjoy!
