+ Using a vegetable chopper makes it so easy to prep your veggies for this dish. You ideally want them to all be the same size so they cook up evenly.
+ You want to make sure you wipe out the pan after you brown the ground beef so your dish isn’t full of a bunch of extra fat and grease. This not only adds extra calories, but can make this dish feel too greasy and heavy.
Pizza Skillet
Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small sweet onion, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 large zucchini, diced
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 6 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
- 12 pepperoni
- dried oregano, to garnish
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet. Drain on a plate lined with paper towels, and wipe out the excess grease from the pan.
- Preheat the oven to broil.
- Add the olive oil, onion, bell pepper, zucchini, and a generous pinch of salt and pepper. Sauté for about 7-8 minutes or until the vegetables are soft and fragrant
- Add the cooked ground beef and marinara sauce. Stir until everything is combined and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the top, followed by scattering the pepperoni out evenly.
- Place into the oven and broil for 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the pepperonis have crisped up slightly.
- Garnish with dried oregano if desired and enjoy!
