Have you heard? Halloween’s over! Put away those orange pumpkins and create a whole new look for Thanksgiving with our white pumpkin centerpiece. It’s quick, easy and inexpensive—three words every crafter loves to hear!

You can use a real pumpkin and spray it white, but who needs all the mess? An artificial one may cost a bit more, but it can be used year after year and you don’t even have to scoop out a single bit of pulp! If you do choose to go the “fresh” route, at least you can collect the pumpkin seeds and roast them for a snack.

Either way, all you need to do is cut off the top of the pumpkin with a sharp knife. Save the top in case you decide to add it to your centerpiece like we did, or use the entire pumpkin for something other than this centerpiece.

Find a plastic container small enough to fit inside the pumpkin, put floral foam in it and place it inside the pumpkin. Put your skills to the test and arrange fresh flowers, using foam as support. Once you’re satisfied, carefully place the top of the pumpkin on the arrangement.

Of course, if you’re afraid it will ruin your handy work, don’t bother. It’s completely optional but it does allow for that unexpected touch to the usual floral centerpiece.

Our white pumpkin centerpiece will certainly be the star of your table—at least until the food arrives!

As a reminder, when placing any centerpiece on the table, be sure to put something underneath it to prevent any spills. If watermarks should occur, try mixing a little baking soda and toothpaste together then rub it on the stain with a damp cloth. Be sure to rub with the grain of the wood, not against it. Once the stain is gone, use furniture polish or wax to regain its finish.
