Keto Salisbury Steak
This Keto Salisbury Steak recipe takes a healthy spin on the original version and is prepared with inexpensive pantry staples.
Ingredients
Yield: 4 servings
Salisbury Steak
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/3 cup almond flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
Gravy
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 2.5 cups beef broth, divided
- 1 tbsp arrowroot starch
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1.5 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, add all ingredients for the Salisbury steak patties. Mix well to combine.
- Use your hands to shape the mixture into six medium patties.
- Heat a large skillet over medium high heat and add the avocado oil. Add the patties and cook for about 3 minutes per side to form a nice crust. Remove from the pan.
- Immediately add more avocado oil and the diced onion. Saute for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- Add 2 cups of the beef broth, garlic powder, onion powder, Dijon, Worcestershire, and a pinch of salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a simmer and lower the heat to medium-low.
- Mix the last ½ cup of broth with the arrowroot to make a slurry. Add to the pan. Bring to a simmer once again, stirring frequently.
- Once thickened, add the patties back in and let simmer for about 5 minutes, flipping the patties halfway through. Serve with fresh parsley if desired.

Hi thank you for this recipe. I’m new to all this & I’m not even sure if this blog is even active anymore but I just wanted to reach to to ask if there’s anything I can use instead of arrowroot for the gravy since I really would rather not use any type of starch. Any other thickening agent?
Also, is there something else I can use that’s lower in carbs in place of the Worcestershire Sauce? What do you recommend? And finally, is there something else I can use in place of the almond flour? I can’t really have any nuts or seeds. Can pork panko be used instead or not really? THANK YOU SO MUCH!
