Blend your favorite summer fruits into a refreshing afternoon cocktail. We combined classic watermelon and ripe mango to make this tropical mango lemon watermelon cocktail.

Select fresh mangos by feel, not by color, as color is not the best indicator of ripeness. Squeeze the mango gently and feel for a slight give. Keep unripe mangos at room temperature until they are ready to be used. If you need to speed up the ripening process (um, hello–most of us needed a cocktail five minutes ago), place the mango in a paper bag at room temperature.

The key factor for a perfectly delicious mango lemon watermelon cocktail is muddling the fruit. You don’t need a fancy muddler–a wooden spoon will suffice! Bruising the fruit will release the flavors in your cocktail for happy sipping.
