If you’ve been charged with preparing the family dinner but are having second thoughts about your culinary prowess, fret no more! This easy glazed ham recipe will feed the masses without the panic and fuss.

For this recipe, it’s all about the glaze! We used a pre-cooked, spiral cut ham because they’re super easy to find and they’re cooked to perfection in a fraction of the time it would have taken to bake an uncooked ham.

All you need is 10 minutes to prep the goods, then 2−3 hours to bake the meat. This means you have plenty of time to walk the dog, do a load of laundry, or simply take a load off if you need some time to rest. Yahoo!

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 275 degrees and place a rack in the bottom 1/3 of the oven.
  • Unwrap the ham and be sure to remove any plastic that the processor added for handling. (Usually they will add a plastic “button” over the end of the bone.) Place the ham face down in a baking dish or roasting pan and wrap tightly with aluminum foil.
  • Place the ham in the oven and bake for about 12−15 minutes per lb or until heated through.
  • While the ham is baking, stir together the honey, brown sugar and Dijon mustard and set aside.
  • When the ham is heated through, remove it from the oven and increase the temperature to 425 degrees. Remove the foil and spoon the glaze over the outside of the ham.
  • When the oven has reached 425 degrees, return the ham (uncovered) to the oven and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow the ham to rest for 10−15 minutes before serving.
  • Enjoy!
