Our easy cucumber yogurt sauce recipe is so diverse; it can be paired with a main course of chicken or fish, used as a dip with veggies and crackers or on a sandwich in lieu of mayonnaise and mustard. Just get creative with it!

There’s really nothing to this dish—simply chop the cucumber, add the seasonings then combine with yogurt. It’s as easy as 1-2-3! We used English cucumbers because they have a thin skin and fewer seeds, but really, any variety will do.

Make sure to refrigerate our cucumber yogurt sauce for 3–4 hours prior to serving so the flavors have time to integrate. Voila! A great, foolproof sauce you can enjoy any time of year, for any occasion!

Instructions

  • Chop the cucumber finely and put in a large bowl. If using smaller cucumbers, peel first to remove the wax and scrape out the seeds. Next add the lemon zest and juice, garlic clove and dill. Toss all ingredients together. Fold the yogurt into the cucumber mixture. Mix completely and season with salt and pepper. Pour into a serving bowl, cover and refrigerate 3–4 hours to blend the flavors.
