High Protein Jalapeño Popper Cheeseburger Bites
Cheeseburgers are one of those foods we find ourselves craving all the time. Unfortunately, when you’re looking for high protein recipes for weight loss, cheeseburgers are not usually at the top of the list. They’re typically high in fat and the bun adds quite a bit of carbs. Luckily, these macro-friendly cheeseburger bites give you all the flavor of your favorite fast food in a way that fits your high protein diet
It’s important to note that if you want to keep this a high protein, low fat recipe, you’re going to need to make sure you use low fat cheese and low fat cream cheese. Luckily, both of these are very easy to find in a regular grocery store.

Cheeseburger Bites Recipe Tips:
+ To make a more traditional cheeseburger bite, substitute chopped pickles for the jalapeños, and serve with ketchup or mustard!
+ If you want to make these lower in carbs or keto-friendly, substitute crushed pork rinds for the bread crumbs.
+ Use a spray oil, like avocado oil, to prepare your muffin tin so you don’t add a lot of extra calories from the oil. A silicone tray also helps you use less oil to prevent sticking.
High Protein Jalapeño Popper Cheeseburger Bites
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup low fat cheddar
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 4 jalapeños, seeded and diced
- 4 egg whites
- 6 tbsp fat free cream cheese
- pinch of salt and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and oil a muffin tin.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients except the cream cheese. Mix until completely combined.
- Fill each muffin tin half way, then top with ½ tbsp of fat free cream cheese, then top with more mixture. The mixture should fill 12 muffin tins.
- Place into the oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes. Let cool 5-10 minutes before removing from the tin.
Easy to make but I expected a lot of flavor and felt like they were very bland. If I try it again I might tried pickled jalepenos and cheddar cheese.
Am I to cook the ground beef first? Lol

This was delicious!!! I followed the instructions and cook time/temp exactly. It looks like there won’t be enough meat mixture for the full 12 muffin cups but there is! Only thing I changed was I mixed some chopped bacon, some of the diced jalapeno, and some shredded cheddar into my cream cheese before stuffing. I didn’t use fat free of either cheese just because I had full fat already on hand. 10/10 this was so good, filling, and SO easy for this busy mama!
